Biographies
Leslie S. Auerbach (pronounced
"our back") graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law with honors
and has
been a partner in the law firm of Auerbach & Simmons since 1975. During that
time, he has been actively practicing law in Florida, Maryland and the
District of Columbia.
He served as a Chapter 7 Trustee for four years, lectured with the Continuing Legal
Education Institute, served as a court-appointed bankruptcy examiner, and
has testified as a bankruptcy law expert.
He was the lead plaintiff's counsel in the successful class action case of Grice v. PNC
Mortgage Company, and has an extensive background in litigation with
emphasis on accident cases, family law, as well as bankruptcy cases. In
addition to his law practice with Auerbach & Simmons, he is a member of the
Advisory Board of the Bankruptcy Law Reporter for the Bureau of National
Affairs.
Maren
Auerbach graduated cum laude from the Howard University School of
Law and holds a Masters Degree in Human Relations from the University of
Oklahoma. She was general counsel for Realty World Corporation with
responsibility for the legal affairs of a nationwide real estate franchise
organization. She directed litigation in various state, federal and
bankruptcy courts, as well as negotiated corporate acquisitions, valued in
the millions of dollars.
After 10 years of corporate law, she joined Auerbach
and Simmons in 1991, concentrating in bankruptcy law. She is a member of the
National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and the American
Bankruptcy Institute.
